A rebrand touches everything, but product URLs are easy to forget — and risky to get wrong. Each product handle that still contains your old name looks off, and simply changing them breaks every existing link and any search ranking those URLs had earned. The fix has two halves: update the handle and redirect the old one.
Why doing this by hand is dangerous
Changing a URL handle in Shopify is easy; remembering to add a 301 redirect for the old URL is the part people miss. Skip it and you get 404s, broken links from other sites, and lost search traffic. Across dozens or hundreds of products, doing both steps reliably by hand is nearly impossible.
Rename and redirect in one instruction
With Claude MCP Connector, both halves happen together:
For every product, Claude updates the handle and creates a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new one — so existing links keep working and the search equity those pages built up carries straight over.

Why the redirects are the point
The handles are cosmetic; the redirects are what protect your traffic. Handling both automatically means a rebrand doesn't quietly cost you months of accumulated SEO — your new URLs go live and every old link still lands exactly where it should.
